When you've chosen your hair color and you're uncertain whether it went ok, you'll get the opportunity to select the hair color all over again. Selecting a hair color using the Intense and Bright hair color options is easier than using the Natural option, because you just get four options to choose from and you won't have to use that finicky slider. Your choices will determine your hair color. If you choose Intense or Bright you will get a question with four possible answers. If you choose Natural you will get a slider with different values. You are given 3 options - Natural, Intense, or Bright. She first asks you what kind of color you would like. Hairstyles HairstyleĪfter choosing your hairstyle, Harriet asks you what color you would like your hair to be. The table below shows all the possible slider positions and answers and the resulting different hairstyles.

If you answer "It's a secret", you will get a random hairstyle. When selecting the lowest/last of each option, you can choose betwen three options. So altogether, there are 4x2x2 = 16 possible hairstyles for each gender. Your answer to the first question will cause Harriet to ask a second question, also with two possible responses. Your choice on the slider causes Harriet to ask a question, with two possible responses. Or just make an estimate it's not too hard. If you accidentally moved the slider and hence have lost the initial position, start all over again. Section D: move the slider all the way down. Section B: move the slider up by a small distance from the original position. If you wish to select section A, move the slider all the way up. So, if that's the formality you're intending, don't move the slider. The initial position, which looks like it's centered, is in section C. The slider is subdivided into four equal sections, which are denoted by the character A-D, where A is the topmost section and D the bottommost. A slider will appear, with Casual at the top and Formal at the bottom. When you begin selecting your hairstyle, Harriet will ask you what overall look you are hoping for. Getting bedhead won't change your hair color. This style is shown at the bottom of the hairstyle table. If you haven't played for 15 days (or you have time travelled for as many days), you'll get bedhead. The questions are the same for each, but the outcome will be different. After having visited Harriet a number of times, you will occasionally get the option to select the opposite gender's hairstyle. At this point, you have the option to choose whether you would like a female or male style. Luckily, it is not required for each use to result in a different style, nor for each available style to be worn, as it was in previous games.Īfter meeting these requirements, Harriet will suggest that an opposite gender hairstyle would look nice on your character. To unlock these hairstyles, you must use the hairstyling service at least 15 times. Unlocking the opposite gender hairstyles is a bit more tedious, but it can be done quickly if time is used efficiently. Unlike the hairstyling service, you cannot have your eye color changed in another town. The colors you can choose from are black, blue, bright blue, green, brown, and a bluish gray. On the 15th day, Harriet's machine will have a slightly different appearance, and the eye color option will be available. To unlock the eye color station, you must use the hairstyling service at least once and wait 14 days. Depending on if you are wearing the mask or not, the icon shown will either be the word 'Mii', or your Mii's face, respectively. You will see a circle on the bottom right of the touch screen. To wear or take off a Mii Mask, open the Designs Tab.

However, if you alter your Mii in the Mii Maker, your Mii Mask will change in-game without the need to pay the 3,000 bell fee again. After altering the appearance of your character, if you would like to use a different Mii, you would need to use the makeup service again. The makeup option changes your character's face and hair to match a specific Mii of choice. In addition, this hairstyle is an option for male characters at the start of the game, yet is unavailable to females. However, this is not a permanent fix, and the bedhead with remain upon removing the accessory. Like any other hairstyles available in the game, many hats, wigs, and Mii Masks can cover it up.

To rid your character of this messy look, you can use the hairstyling service.
